@bottitytto Hey, heads up but your https certificate doesn't actually cover the social subdomain at mashek.net so I'm getting a privacy error trying to visit your social page.

In honor of 404 day, remember when Jobs posted against DRM in "Thoughts on Music" on apple.com? Yeah that's 404.

@Gargron While I usually don't like to suggest Windows should be used for development, Windows 10 does have the Linux Subsystem for Windows which layers Ubuntu 14.04 over NT. It's like reverse WINE.

If most of your applications are compatible, ReactOS is also an option.

The SmallTalk one is actually probably my favourite though:

SmallTalk: You shoot yourself in the foot and your foot sends doesNotUnderstand: Pain to your brain.

Java: You amputate your foot at the ankle with a fourteen-pound hacksaw, but you can do it on any platform.

C++: You accidentally create a dozen instances of yourself and shoot them all in the foot. Providing emergency medical assistance is impossible since you can't tell which are bitwise copies and which are just pointing at others and saying, "That's me, over there."

Python: You create a gun module, a gun class, a foot module, and a foot class. After realizing you can't point the gun at the foot, you pass a reference to the gun to a foot object. After the foot is blown up, the gun object remains alive for eternity, ready to shoot all future feet that may happen to appear.

@qqnosh There was exactly one rule in place about console purchases and you broke it.

I have a special appreciation for Diogenes. There's nothing more fun than explaining to somebody that one of the key figures of Cynic philosophy lived in a barrel and told Alexander the Great to stand out of his sunlight.

@maiyannah What makes .rtf any worse than the .docx family in general? In an ideal world people would just use .odt, but that's just a utopian fantasy.

It's been a while since I posted on a social network proper, but it seems like might put the last nail in the coffin of Twitter, Inc.

It's the end of the world, but hey, it's also the beginning of a whole new one.
